save water

    Save Water
Water is a very precious resource. It is the principle substance that separates our planet from all others and makes life possible. Humans, from very beginning realised the importance of water. All ancient civilisations flourished near the rivers. Water is the main element for all activities including agriculture which provides us food. About 70% of the Earth’s surface is covered with water. 97% of the water on the Earth is salt water. Humans cannot drink this water. 2% of the water on Earth is glacier ice at the North and South poles. Less than 1% of all the water on Earth is fresh water that we can actually use. We use this small amount of water for drinking, transportation, heating and cooling, industry, agriculture and many other purposes. With development, industrialisation and growth in population the demand for water has increased tremendously. Our fresh water resources are depleting at an alarming pace. People have realised the need to conserve water. By conserving we mean using something carefully or sparingly, avoiding waste.
